Gillian Hayes
Gillian runs the STAR Lab and is the Vice Provost for Graduate Education and Dean of the Graduate Division at UC Irvine. Her interests include human-computer interaction, ubiquitous computing, assistive and educational technologies, and health informatics.
Armando Beltran
Armando is a Postdoc within the Department of Informatics. His research interest focus on using machine learning, evolutionary computing, and multi-objective optimization as tools to characterize and solve problems that emerge in everyday life and molecular biology.

Jazette Johnson
Jazette Johnson is a fifth-year Ph.D. candidate (in her final month of study) in the Department of Informatics. Her research explores the emerging online support communities dementia caregivers and people living with dementia cultivate across their personal social media ecosystem.

Lucas Silva
Lucas is a fifth year PhD candidate studying how to leverage people’s discovery and understanding of personal data through the use of multiple devices to help manage their health and wellbeing, be individually or collaboratively in family settings.
Elizabeth Ankrah
Lizzy is a fourth-year Informatics Ph.D. candidate and an NSF GRFP Fellow. Her work aims to explore the design of sociotechnical interventions that support the successful transition of adolescent and young adult childhood cancer survivors.
Emani Dotch
Emani is a third-year Ph.D. student, NSF GRFP Fellow, and UC-HBCU Fellow. She uses qualitative methods to design, develop, and evaluate assistive technology to support autistic individuals, especially those from historically marginalized communities.
Sohyeon Park
Sohyeon is a 2nd-year Ph.D. student in the Department of Informatics. Her research explores understanding the challenges marginalized populations face in their daily lives and supporting them through the use of state-of-the art assistive technologies, such as AR/VR.
