Social and technological action research (STAR) includes a focus on the conditions and effects of various technologies and research leading to social and technological action that uses a spiral of steps, including in-depth field work and understanding of problems; design and development of social, political, and technological interventions; and short and long-term evaluation about the results of our research action.
The Social and Technological Action Research Group (STAR Group) at the University of California, Irvine is dedicated to significant scientific and scholarly research in computing, technology, and social processes for the greater good.
