At the Celebration of Teaching, Gillian Hayes was recognized for “Pedagogical Innovation” for transforming an Informatics course into one more focused on service learning. The focus of this award on Civic Engagement reflects a wider push on campus to focus on getting out in the community and using what we know and do to help change the world. There will also be a new minor in civic engagement offered starting this fall.
