The goal of WellConnect is to improve mental health services for low-income urban youth by increasing this population’s awareness of their own mental health.

A range of factors, which currently prevent a successful treatment, include:
  • Missed Appointments
  • Poor Medication Adherence
  • Stigma
  • Limited Access to Care
Smartphones grant opportunity for improved care. Through the use of smart phones, the individuals will be able to monitor their daily activities. WellConnect hopes to customize to the specific needs of individuals to allow them to take better care of themselves.

The current WellConnect prototype makes use of the Android platform but can be extended to other devices.

This work is led by Karen Cheng and is in partnership with Didi Hirsch Mental Health Services.
